Warlock class- Uncontrollable Fear

Warlocks are the dark arts damage dealers. Pure dps casters with shadow and fire based spells, Warlocks are really good for pvp and pve game play. They are the masters of the demons and could summon different types of demons as pets. One of the Lock’s main skills is the Ritual of Souls. A Warlock makes a Soulwell with this ritual and all the raid members can acquire a Fel Healthstone by clicking on the Soulwell. Healthstones come in really handy both in pvp and pve fights since they bring back some amount of your health. Another very useful spell is Create Soulstone. This spell can be used only in pve fights. A lock can place a Soulstone on himself or any other of the group or raid members which will allow this player to resurrect himself after death. Usually a Soulstone is placed on healers, but its purpose can vary from fight to fight. Similar to Mages, Locks also have aoe spells, and can crowd control with a few spells that cause opponents to be feared or banished. Dot+Fear combination works perfect in pvp combat and fear is the most famous spell a Lock has and is hated for.

If you decide to play a Warlock you can choose between the following races: Human or Gnome on the Aliance side and Undead, Orc or a Blood Elf on the Horde side.

Lock’s Specs

Depending on the spec a Lock chooses, he can be a top dps caster with Destruction spec, the base of his dps on dots aka Damage Over Time with Affliction spec, which is really good for pvp or be a demon master and choose a Demonology spec.

Locks can also make really good dps hybrid specs with combining some talents from i.e. demonology tree and destruction tree. A nicely spent 1 talent point could be in the demonology tree on the talent called Demonic Sacrifice which will grant your Lock extra shadow or fire damage health or mana regeneration, depending on the demon you sacrifice. If you go for the shadow spells and want to improve your dps, 5 points in the Improved Shadow Bolt in the destruction tree definitely won’t be a waste.

Demons

All Warlocks have the ability to summon demons. The demons can come in handy while leveling and also while doing instances, raids or just playing pvp. You could use a Voidwalker while leveling to tank the mobs while you dps. Imp is mostly used for some extra damage & health. Succubus, a female demon is used for her Seduction ability which is good as a crowd control spell both in pvp and pve. Felhunter is also very useful, especially for pvp because of its ability to silence the opponent, devour magic and buff paranoia which makes the rogues much less of a problem. By placing talent points in the demonology tree a Lock can get the ability to summon a Felguard. When used in pvp, a Warlock will usually set his Felguard on a healer or another caster because of his ability to interrupt. From all the demons a Lock could summon a Felguard does the most damage. By sacrificing this demon a Lock will also receive a 30 minute long buff which will increase his damage with both shadow and fire spells by 10% and will also restore 2% of his mana every 4 seconds. Very nice!
