Story
Once the Undead were mindless Scourge, ruled by the Lich King. Even though Illidans attempt to melt the continent of Northrend failed, the powers of the Lich King started to fade. The Lich King controlled the entire scourge with a mental domination, due to his fading powers, he lost the control of many Scourge forces that slowly got their conscious restored. Even Arthas, the Lich King’s Champion started to lose some of his powers. The memories and spirit of some of the Scourge forces came back to them, as well as an urge for revenge. An Undead civil war was the result. Arthas, still loyal to the Lich King, was called back from Lordaeron to Northrend to help the Lich King against Illidan.
The three Dreadlords, Detheroc, Varimathras, and Balnazzar were in charge of the Scourge in Lordaeron and their task was to bring all the Undead back under the Scourge banner, and wipe out all that opposed. Sylvannas Windrunner gathered all the freed Undead to fight against the Dreadlords and, they were highly successful and crushed the Scourge forces. She forced Varimathras to join the Undead forces, and claimed the Undercity, once Arthas was overthrown, as her own.
The Humans and Alliance, with all their holy means, didn’t appreciate any form of Undead beings, and also couldn’t understand what took place between the Forsaken and the Scourge. Sylvannas wanted to ensure that their new home was free of any invaders and made an alliance of convenience with the Horde. T he Horde did have some sympathy for the situation of the Forsaken armies and also saw an advantage in having a new strong ally at their side.

Classes
As an Undead player, you will belong to the Undercity faction and will be able to choose from the following classes:
Racial Advantages
As for their racial abilities, the Will of the Forsaken, is probably the best known one because this is what gives the Undead a serious edge in some PvP situations. It allows all Undead players to dispel any Charm, Fear or Sleep effects on themselves every 2 minutes. This is very useful in PvP where crowd control is important, and thus the disrupting of the crowd control is even more important.
The Undead have a natural Shadow Resistance which is a passive ability and reduces their chance to be hit by any Shadow spells and effects by 2%. Being Undead, they can also breath under water which is a nice feature as well.

Then the Undead have one more racial ability that suits them nicely, it is the ability to devour slain mobs with the Cannibalize ability. This ability allows the Undead players to eat any Humanoid and Undead corpses to regain 35% of their total health over 10 seconds. This ability however, does come with a 2 minute cooldown.
