Hunter class - The surviving beastmaster

Hunters only have 3 friends.. Their weapons, the weapons that weren’t included with the first weapons, and their pets. Ranged damage dealers as they are, they are making skillful use of their Bows, Guns and Crossbows. With a pet at their side that can do quite an amount of damage as well, Hunters are a great asset to any group. It isn’t only their ability to do good amounts of damage however, that makes them worthy partners. They have the ability to place traps which can freeze enemies in place, slow them down, or deal a good amount of damage. Their Pets can act as tank or off-tank in some situations.

The Hunters also have an ability called Misdirect, with this fine ability they redirect some threat to the tank which can be very useful in raids and parties. The Hunters also have quite a few abilities to slow down their enemies and can even Feign Death, reducing their aggro completely or in some cases, saves them from dying which means an unhappy Armorsmith  because of his reduced paycheck. The gold the Hunter might save on his repairs however, must be spent on other necessary goods like ammunition and some food to keep his or her pet happy.

The following races have Hunters in their ranks: Dwarves, Night Elves, Draenei, Trolls, Orcs, and Taurens.

The Hunter has some sweet abilities and nice talents and you can read about some of them below.

Beast Mastery

Beast Mastery is of course the talent tree that enhances your pet’s damage, durability, and movement speed. However, there are also some nice talents in this for the Hunter himself. His hitpoints, dodge rating and armor value can be increased and the same goes, even more importantly, for his attack speed (20% even!). The main power of course is focused on the pet in this tree and with the last talent in this tree, called Beast Mastery, a Hunter is even capable to tame exotic pets that other Hunters can’t.

Marksmanship

Marksmanship is the tree that boosts the damage of the Hunter himself greatly. Hardly focused on the pet’s strength, this tree gives the Hunter an arsenal of shots that aren’t available to other hunters. Take in example Silencing Shot, which Silences the target and deals some damage. This comes in handy in both PvE and PvP scenarios, and the same actually goes for Aimed Shot which is another instant shot that deals normal damage plus a small amount of extra damage, and reduces the healing effects on the target by 50%. Then there is the Chimera Shot which deals nice damage and prolongs any stings active on the current target.

Survival

The name says it all; this talent tree is based on survivability. This is probably also the reason why it isn’t so popular since most Hunters made a Hunter to do good damage. Even though in some scenarios, the one that survives actually gets to do more damage. It’s not all bad with this tree though, your traps will become highly affective, and you’ll become a tough cookie with increased hit points. Due to the fact that you’re agility will be increased by 15% and some nice shots that can be found in this tree, like good ol’ Scattershot and the new exploding shot, the Survival tree might be underestimated by some.
