Story
The Human race is quite young. Once enslaved by the ancient Magnataurs, the Human race, previously known as Azotha, became a nomadic race and was primitive in many ways. The Sundering wiped out most of the Humans. After the Sundering, they allied with the High Elves and together they fought the Trolls that were occupying most of Azeroth. The Humans prove to be worthy fighters and managed to win the war against the Trolls. The Humans formed the nation of Strom, which became the Empire of Arathor.
The Empire of Arathor kept expanding and eventually got divided into seven empires, which occasionally fought wars against each other. Today, it is the King Varian Wrynn that leads the Humans from his throne in Stormwind, the main capital of the Humans. The faction, also called Stormwind, is one of the bigger ones to be found in Azeroth.
Human players will start their adventure in Elwynn Forest, the woods where one can find Stormwind as well. The journey will take them through Westfall, the Redridge Mountains, Darkshire and then through the rest of the zones in Azeroth.
Classes
If you desire to play a Human, you can choose from the following classes:
Advantages
One of the advantages of playing a Human is the Racial Ability called Diplomacy which allows the Humans to get an additional 10% extra on their reputation gains.
Next to Diplomacy, the Human also has the passive abilities Mace and Sword Specialization which enhances the Expertise of the Humans when they use these weapons. The Racial ability Human Spirit gives a 3% boost to the Spirit of each Human.

A nice asset for PvP-players is the Perception ability, since this gives them an edge over other races when it comes to detecting invisible players (or mobs when playing PvE). Since the latest expansion, WoTLK, the Humans gained another racial ability called ‘Every Man For Himself’. This ability is great and allows humans to remove any movement impairing effects and effects that make you lose control of your character such as Sheep, Blind, Sap, Hex etc. etc. it is a great ability, both useful for PvP and PvE.
Conclusions
The Spirit bonus, the Mace & Sword specialization, Every Man For Himself and Perception makes the Human an excellent choice for a character. And it doesn’t really matter which class you take because there is always a nice racial ability that makes it worth to play the Human race. Besides that, the Diplomacy ability could save you a lot of hours of reputation grinding on the long run.
